The White Earth Nation in Minnesota has reduced its proposed casino land-trust request from nearly 300 acres to 80 following concerns about drinking water, traffic, infrastructure costs, and property taxes. The project, planned for Clay County, has not yet received federal approval and also requires concurrence from Minnesota’s governor. Tribal representatives say a decision could come by late 2028 under the most favourable circumstances.
