Two elderly priests residing in a temple in Shahjahanpur district were recently murdered by a man. The accused, Sumit Singh, allegedly attacked them with a heavy object before igniting their bodies. Singh reportedly intended to seize control of the temple management following his release from jail. Both priests had long been caretakers of the shrine which had a land registered in one priest’s name.
