South West Water has been fined £7.8 million after pleading guilty to 18 charges linked to hundreds of sewage spills across Devon and Cornwall between 2015 and 2021. The incidents included 231 discharges at Harlyn beach and more than 336 illegal spills near Bodmin. The company has 56 days to pay the penalties.
