Residential complex and possible wine press found near Sekhmet Temple at Egypt’s Memphis

An Egyptian-Chinese archaeological mission found a residential complex near Memphis’s Temple of Sekhmet. Grape seeds and a limestone structure suggest a possible ancient wine press was present. Inscribed stone blocks and statue fragments also emerged from the excavation site. These findings offer insights into daily life and activities around the temple. The discoveries add significant layers to the archaeological record of ancient Memphis.
