In 2025, admissions to Punjab’s de-addiction centers soared by over 164 percent, reflecting a renewed commitment to tackling substance abuse. Notably, government rehabilitation centers experienced an astonishing 224 percent surge in admissions. The outpatient opioid-assisted treatment program also welcomed a significant rise in new patients, while over 11,000 individuals benefited from immunity under the NDPS Act for their treatments, showcasing growing trust in the province’s anti-drug initiatives.
