The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is set to implement special inspections on 17 highway projects that were awarded at least 15 per cent below the estimated costs. These inspections aim to uphold quality standards and will begin with initial reviews by December, followed by further checks in six months. Teams of seasoned engineers will oversee the inspections, and any quality inconsistencies will be rectified in line with contractual obligations.
