A 431-acre waterfront parcel in Gloucester County has been officially added to Machicomoco State Park. This undeveloped land, purchased over two decades ago, will now serve as Machicomoco’s Western Unit. A newly approved 30-year master plan outlines development phases for both park sections. However, no state funding has been allocated for any of the proposed improvements. Public access to the Western Unit remains restricted, awaiting future financial commitments.
