Two friends, Chris Stafford and Warren Conard, opened a haunted house in a Denver shopping complex in 2002, charging $15 per ticket. What began as a side business has grown into a multimillion-dollar company with 18 seasonal Halloween attractions across the US. The company paid around 4,500 workers during the 2025 Halloween season and is now expanding into Christmas entertainment.
