The Union Cabinet is set to revamp a range of social welfare programs previously named after Indira Gandhi. By prefixing these initiatives linked to pensions for the elderly, widows, and disabled individuals with ‘PM’, the administration seeks to modernize their appeal. Notably, the National Social Assistance Programme will be renamed PM Shayata Yojna to reinforce this updated branding strategy.
