In an innovative approach, old concrete pipes are being repurposed as artificial reefs in the Gulf of Mexico. This initiative will create three new underwater habitats near Destin-Fort Walton Beach. These structures offer vital shelter for various marine species and bolster local fisheries. Additionally, this project enhances Florida’s Coastal Corridor program by linking essential marine ecosystems, benefiting charter boats, fishermen, and scuba divers alike.
