An anonymous donation of nearly 160 lots of rare banknotes to a British Heart Foundation charity shop in Edinburgh has raised £85,860 at auction. The collection included a banknote featuring a young Queen Elizabeth II and rare currency specimens from Iraq and Saudi Arabia. Staff initially had no idea of its value. The proceeds will support research into heart and circulatory diseases.
