A conservation club plans to transfer nearly 100 acres of land on Thorah Island to the University of Guelph. This site has been dedicated to honeybee breeding research for over thirty years. The donation aims to maintain the land for conservation and research instead of development. The University of Guelph will continue its long-term apiary operation critical to honeybee genetics work.
