A California couple says Santa Clara County entered their property to address a landslide threatening a public road, left the hillside damaged and later billed them $676,703.22 for the work. The couple says it spent more than $300,000 repairing hazardous conditions allegedly caused by the county. A federal judge has now dismissed their current complaint but allowed them to amend several constitutional claims, keeping part of the legal battle alive.
