An employment tribunal ruled that Sainsbury’s unfairly treated long-serving manager Darren Cooper after he was excluded from a social media post celebrating male leaders while on anxiety-related sick leave. The tribunal found the omission linked to his disability and awarded £11,852 compensation. However, claims of direct disability discrimination and unfair dismissal against the retailer were rejected by the panel.
