CBSE mandates all Class X students to take the first board exam under the new two-exam system starting 2026. Missing three or more subjects in the initial test means an ‘essential repeat’ and disqualification from the second exam. Compartment candidates can appear in the second exam. No exemptions for additional subjects will be granted.
