During the refurbishment of Buckingham Palace, various historical objects were discovered hidden under the floorboards. These items included hobnailed boots, betting slips, and newspaper fragments dating back to the 19th century. Additionally, a typed document concerning Queen Elizabeth II’s diplomatic reception from 1977 was recovered. The restoration aims to update the palace’s electrical systems and lead pipes, some of which are over sixty years old.
